It looks like the plummeting user numbers for Zynga’s ChefVille are only now really starting to make Zynga think, as the developer seems to have launched a new campaign on the game’s Facebook fan page to appease angry players. Free items like Spices and ingredients are now being given away on the fan page via limited time links, but unfortunately, we’re not guaranteed to receive one of these freebies everyday.
Still, the free items aren’t terrible. Instant Restock and Instant Thyme Spices are great for quickly cooking (and clearing out) some dishes, while ingredients like Coffee Beans and Heavy Cream are nice for those players that have pushed into that more recent content, even though many other players left the game before it launched.
It’s clear that Zynga’s trying to make fans happier via these free items, but it seems the bigger issue is the continual release of timed quests that Zynga’s team will likely never understand until it’s too late. Is it already too late? Can the game be saved by freebie campaigns such as these? Only time will tell, but for now, grab your free items from the game’s fan page while you still can.
